Forecast Snow Stability: Fresh deposits of unstable windslab will be present in wind sheltered locations on South-West through West to North aspects above 900 metres, The greatest instability will be in steep locations such as coire headwalls, gullies and convex shaped terrain. Unstable cornices will overhang these aspects. Between 500 and 900 metres, more localised instabilities will be present on steep banks and burn lines. Wind exposed slopes will be firm. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Very strong East-South-East winds during the evening will back Easterly overnight and persist for the remainder of the day. Precipitation throughout the forecast period will be heaviest overnight and into the morning, falling as snow initially to 500 metres, then 100 metres by the end of the day as the freezing level gradually lowers. Observed Weather Influences: Moderate snowfall above 650 metres for most of the day. The freezing level was around 750 metres. Very strong East-South-East winds. ObservedSnowStability: Recent fluctuating temperatures have encouraged consolidation with much snow demonstrating good stability. In wind sheltered locations on West to North aspects above 900 metres, fresh unstable windslab continues to develop. Deeper accumulations of older firm windslab contain moderately bonded layers. Large cornices are present above these aspects. Wind exposed slopes are firm and icy. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
