Localised deposits of moderately bonded windslab will develop above 1000 metres and gradually consolidate as the freezing level rises through the day. Areas most affected will be wind sheltered locations such as gullies and coire rims on North to East aspects above 1000 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Showers throughout the forecast period will initially be snow above around 950 metres gradually turning to rain at higher levels as the freezing level rises above all summits by the end of the afternoon. Strong West-South-Westerly winds will decrease in strength through the day. Observed Weather Influences: Showers throughout the day became heavier in the afternoon and were rain below around 900 metres, changing between rain and wet snow at higher elevations. The freezing level was around 1050 metres with strong South-Westerly winds. ObservedSnowStability: The existing snowpack continues to thaw and consolidate, stability here is good. New wet snow deposits on the highest summits are shallow and reasonably well bonded. The avalanche hazard is Low.
