Forecast Snow Stability: The old patchy snow will be well bonded and stable, developing firm surface layers overnight. Largest areas will be encountered on the higher mountain plateaus and on North-West through North to East aspects above 850 metres. Insignificant new snow amounts settling above 900 metres by the end of the period. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: An overcast but mainly dry period with some very light snow falling above 900 metres during the late afternoon. Moderate Westerly winds overnight, will strengthen to become strong South-South-Westerly during the day. Freezing level falling to 600 metres overnight, rising to 1200 metres by the end of the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: Intermittent, light rain during the morning, clearing to give a dry and bright afternoon. Fresh to strong West-North-Westerly winds. Freezing level lowering to around 1200 metres by late morning. ObservedSnowStability: The rapid rate of thaw has slowed due to the cooler conditions and cloud cover. The remaining snow is well bonded and stable. Cover is patchy but large areas of snow exist on the highest plateau areas and on North-West through North to East aspects above 850 metres. Large glide cracks have opened up around some corrie rims. The avalanche hazard is Low.
