Even in moderately steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface. The hard wind slabs are rather small and can only be released in isolated cases. Transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack where hard layers are lying on a weakly bonded old snowpack are unfavourable. Such avalanche prone locations are rather rare. Skiers can release avalanches only in isolated cases. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to slight moistening of the snowpack. Until the temperature falls only isolated mostly small moist and wet avalanches are possible below approximately 2600 m.

The weather was mild. Above the tree line snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Especially on steep sunny slopes as well as below approximately 2200 m less snow than usual is lying. Also adjacent to ridgelines hardly any snow is lying.

The avalanche danger will persist.
