Avalanche Activity

Fresh and older wind slabs represent the main danger.

As a consequence of a strong northwesterly wind, further wind slabs will form in the course of the day. These will form in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and generally at elevated altitudes. Fresh and older wind slabs are to be assessed with care and prudence.

Snowpack Structure

In particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls sometimes avalanche prone wind slabs formed. The surface of the snowpack is frozen, but not to a significant depth. On sunny slopes below approximately 2200 m only a little snow is lying.
