Avalanche Summary

No new avalanches reported.

Snowpack Summary

10-15 cm of fresh low density snow has likely been redistributed by southerly winds.

At low elevations, the new snow dusts previously crusty surfaces. In the alpine, it adds to 10 to 50 cm of wind-affected snow that is reportedly bonding well to the underlying crust. The crust reaches up to 1500 m in White Pass and 1200 m in the Wheaton area.

Terrain and Travel Advice

  • Watch for wind-loaded pockets especially around ridgecrest and in extreme terrain.
  • Start on smaller terrain features and gather information before committing to bigger terrain.
  • Back off if you encounter whumpfing, hollow sounds, or shooting cracks.

Avalanche Problems
