Regions: Glacier.

Buried surface hoar down around a meter is still our main concern. This layer is still reactive and triggering it would have large consequences. Use cautious route finding particularly at treeline elevations.

Avalanche Problems

Persistent Slabs

Around a meter of cohesive slab overlies 2 significant weak layers. These surface hoar layers are reactive and in skier-triggerable range. Wide propagations and remote triggering are likely. These layers are most sensitive at treeline and below.

Aspects: All aspects.

Elevations: All elevations.

Likelihood: Possible - Likely

Expected Size: 1 - 3

Wind Slabs

Winds have shifted from the SW to NE. They are just cresting into the moderate range where snow can be transported. Previous lee slopes, N and E aspects are still a concern for windlslab now exercise caution on S and W aspects particularly at ridges.

Aspects: All aspects.

Elevations: Alpine, Treeline.

Likelihood: Possible

Expected Size: 1 - 2
