The few places you may be able to trigger a small avalanche on Sunday are on north and northeast-facing slopes in the alpine. These are the only slopes where drifted snow sits on top of old, faceted snow. Avoid areas of deeper or stiffer snow, especially in steep, shady, rocky terrain. These will be the spots that are white, instead of the salt-and-pepper where rocks are still poking through. Even small avalanches can drag you on an unforgiving ride through shallow rocks.
New snow adds up by Monday and will increase avalanche danger.
