Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche where you find cohesive, foot-thick slabs layered on top of cohesionless snow. The most dangerous slopes face north through east near treeline, but the weak snow extended into elevation bands both above and below. Recent avalanches or cracking and collapsing as you travel are indications to avoid traveling on or directly under steep terrain. Safer travel options are wind-sheltered areas below treeline or on wind-scoured slopes facing more southwest directions above treeline.
