Highlights

New snow and strong winds have created slabs to two feet in depth on lee slopes at mid and upper elevations. Cold temperatures at the start of the cycle have prevented the new snow from bonding to slippery underlying crusts. New snow on sun crusts on southerly aspects will be very sensitive to triggers from backcountry users. Slides have the potential to step down and pull out deeper layers of snow. At low elevations ravines, roadcuts and terrain traps should be avoided.
