Highlights

The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. New snow and high winds have deposited soft slabs up to two feet in depth at all elevations. These slabs could easily be triggered today by backcountry users, particularly on steep slopes and in cliff areas. These slabs have the potential to pull out deeper weak layers. Watch for sunballs and sloughs developing into bigger slides on sunlit slopes as the day warms. Beware of steep gullies and terrain traps.
