Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche on smooth, planar slopes such as a steep grassy hill that faces northwest through north to east where the past several storms developed a thick slab that now rests on top of weak snow from October. Most of these avalanches will be small but they can still take you for a dangerous, rocky ride and on the right slope they could grow large enough to bury you. You can find safer travel options by sticking to southerly and west-facing slopes.
