Many slopes are safe from avalanches as Spring weather transforms the snowpack into its final form. However, continued sunny and warm weather increases the chances of wet avalanches on sunny slopes later in the day. In general, wet avalanches should be small but could become more dangerous at higher elevations where you there is more loose snow to slide.
Travel early in the day for better snow conditions and to stay ahead of the day's wet avalanche concerns. The witching hour for wet avalanche problems could creep earlier each day as temperatures climb. If you find yourself sinking into wet snow, avoid travel on steep slopes.
