Avalanche conditions are dangerous. You can trigger a large and destructive avalanche that breaks into old snow near the ground on west through north to southeast-facing slopes.  You can trigger avalanches remotely or from the bottom of a slope, so give any of the above slopes steeper than about 30 degrees a wide buffer. You may not notice any signs of instability until it is too late and if you trigger an avalanche, it might break wider and run farther than you anticipate. You can find safer options on south and southwest-facing slopes, but be aware that you might trigger small avalanches just beneath ridgelines that break in the freshly-drifted snow. Stick to slopes less than about 30 degrees that are not connected to any steeper, larger slopes, and avoid any wind-drifted areas below ridgelines.
