The avalanche danger is Low today. Isolated pockets of shallow wind slab may be encountered along high elevation ridgelines and peaks. These slabs will be small in volume and more of an issue in terrain where a fall would carry high consequences. In all other terrain avalanches are unlikely. Always follow safe travel protocols by exposing only one person at a time and carrying and knowing how to use rescue gear.

A very weak system will pass over Wyoming tonight, bringing little relief from our current drought situation. Snow tonight and tomorrow will only amount to a trace to an inch. Temperatures and wind will be similar to today, with twenties in the mountains with northwest winds at 20-25 mph under partly cloudy skies. The avalanche danger will remain Low tomorrow, though watching for wind drifted snow and isolated wind slabs at ridgetops will remain prudent.
