Avalanche Activity

The snowpack will be quite well bonded.

In particular on steep slopes mostly small moist slab avalanches are possible as the penetration by moisture increases. As the temperature drops there will be a gradual decrease in the danger of moist and wet avalanches during the course of the night. Avalanches can to some extent be released in the weakly bonded old snow, mostly by large additional loads. Below approximately 2200 m from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.

Snowpack Structure

Over a wide area only a little snow is lying. In some places new snow and wind slabs are lying on a hard crust. The old snowpack is faceted, especially on steep shady slopes.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist.
