The moist fresh snow of the last few days as well as the mostly small wind slabs represent the main danger. The moist fresh snow and the scattered mostly small wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant in isolated cases in particular on very steep north, northeast and northwest facing slopes. These avalanche prone locations are to be found on very steep slopes, in particular on near-ridge shady slopes. Weak layers in the old snowpack can be released especially by large additional loads. The avalanche prone locations are rare but are barely recognisable, even to the trained eye.

Over a wide area 15 to 30 cm of snow has fallen since Friday above approximately 1800 m. The new snow is lying on a crust in all aspects above approximately 2200 m. In areas where the snow cover is rather shallow and on very steep sunny slopes the snowpack will soften more quickly. The old snowpack will be well bonded on steep sunny slopes. Faceted weak layers exist in the snowpack on north, northeast and northwest facing slopes. In all regions in all altitude zones only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year. On Tuesday in all aspects several small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized avalanches were reported.

The avalanche danger will decrease gradually.
