The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular in steep terrain at intermediate and high altitudes and on steep sunny slopes below approximately 2200 m.
In particular above approximately 2200 m: Weak layers in the old snowpack can still be released in some place by winter sport participants. This applies in particular on steep west, north and northeast facing slopes. Dry avalanches can in isolated cases be released by a single winter sport participant. In the regions exposed to snowfall this applies especially on very steep slopes. As a consequence of warming during the day and the solar radiation, the likelihood of moist and wet avalanches being released will increase in particular below approximately 2200 m. Backcountry tours should be started and concluded early.
Monday: In some localities 5 to 15 cm of snow, and up to 20 cm in some localities, has fallen since Monday above approximately 1600 m. Intermediate and high altitudes: Weak layers exist in the snowpack especially on west, north and northeast facing slopes. In shady places that are protected from the wind: Towards its surface, the snowpack is dry; its surface consists of loosely bonded snow. In the vicinity of peaks snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. In places that are protected from the wind in all altitude zones a lot of snow is lying for the time of year. Low and intermediate altitudes and steep sunny slopes: The surface of the snowpack will only just freeze and will soften earlier than the day before. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise in the late morning to increasing moistening of the snowpack in particular on sunny slopes in particular at low and intermediate altitudes.
