Be cautious in areas with fresh wind-drifted snow. Sheltered terrain facing north and east will be most exposed, but remember that wind direction can vary locally.

If the sun gains enough strength, some avalanches may release naturally in steep, sun-exposed terrain.

Also be aware that in some places a new layer of faceted crystals may have formed between the old snowpack and the new snow that arrived earlier this week. If you see shooting cracks or hear whumpfs, these are clear signs of avalanche danger.

Cornices are weak in many places after recent strong winds and new snow — keep a good distance from them.

Be careful in terrain with fresh storm slabs until the new snow is stabilized.

A fair amount of new snow is expected in the area, but not much wind. In leeward areas, especially towards the east, soft new snow slabs may form. The new snow needs time to stabilize, and steep slopes with a lot of loose snow may still be unstable.

If the snow cracks around you, or you observe recent avalanches, these are clear signs that the new snow has formed slabs and that avalanches can be triggered.

Vær forsiktig i områder med fersk fokksnø. Leområder mot nord og øst vil være mest utsatt, men husk at vindretningen kan variere lokalt.

Hvis sola får skikkelig tak kan det gå noen skred av seg selv i solvendt bratt terreng.

Vær også oppmerksom på at det noen steder kan ha dannet seg et nytt kantkornlag i overgangen mellom gammelt snødekke og nysnøen som kom tidligere i uka. Ser du skytende sprekker eller hører drønn er dette tydelige tegn på skredfare.

Skavlene er mange steder svake etter mye vind og nysnø de siste dagene - hold god avstand til skavler.

Nysnø og vind de siste dagene har dannet myke flak i leheng, og rygger er avblåste og isete. I skjerma formasjoner og i forsenkinger finnes det ubunden fin snø. Stedvis er det svært fint skiføre. Det er stor variasjon i regionen. Svake lag av kantkorn fra tidligere i vinter anses stort sett som nøytralisert, men i skyggesider på de aller høyestliggende områdene kan det fortsatt være mulig å finne dem og påvirke dem.
