Avalanche Activity

The new snow and wind slabs of the weekend represent the main danger. As a consequence of solar radiation avalanches are possible as the day progresses, but they will be mostly small.

The fresh snow as well as the wind slabs formed during the snowfall can be released, especially by large additional loads, in all aspects above approximately 2000 m. Mostly avalanches are small.

Snowpack Structure

The new snow and wind slabs of yesterday are bonding only slowly with the old snowpack in particular on very steep shady slopes. Weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack in particular on shady slopes.
