Forecast Snow Stability: Overnight and during the early morning some new deposits of moist windslab will form mainly on North to East aspects above 1050 metres. From mid morning windslab will be deposited in wind sheltered areas to increasing lower levels, mainly on North to East aspects. Accumulations are not expected to be extensive or gain significant depth. The old snowpack will be generally stable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Strong winds will initially be Southerly, gradually veering Westerly through the period and easing moderate to strong during the morning. Overnight and during the early morning showers will fall as snow above around 1050 metres, then to increasingly lower levels as the freezing level drops to around 600 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Winds were moderate to strong generally Southerly. During the morning the freezing level rose to around the highest summits. Showers, mainly light, increasingly fell as rain at most levels. ObservedSnowStability: There are some fresh deposits of moist snow mainly on North-West to North-East aspects above 1050 metres. Accumulations are shallow and generally well bonded. Below this level the snowpack is slowly thawing and generally stable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
