At higher elevations, much of the surface was eroded to the January 18th crust by the W high winds of last weekend. New snow received afterwards also blew off and very little leeward accumulation was observed. Below the treeline, 35 to 45 cm of wind-affected snow was found on top of the decaying crust.
In general, snowpack heights ranged from 70-90 cm in the valley to 100-150 cm in the mid-mountain.
