Over a wide area 25 to 40 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, fell yesterday above approximately 1800 m. The fresh snow and the sometimes large wind slabs formed by the easterly wind are poorly bonded with the old snowpack in some places in particular on steep sunny slopes and at intermediate and high altitudes. These can be released, even by a single winter sport participant and reach large size in isolated cases. The current avalanche situation calls for caution and restraint, caution is to be exercised in particular on steep slopes, and on wind-loaded slopes.
The fresh snow as well as the wind slabs are bonding poorly with the old snowpack in some places in particular on steep sunny slopes. Towards its surface, the snowpack is dry; its surface consists of loosely bonded snow. Weak layers exist in the old snowpack in particular on shady slopes.
