Forecast Snow Stability: The remaining pockets of windslab on North to East aspects above 800 metres, predominantly in the tops of gullies and round corrie rims will become increasingly unstable as the freezing level rises well above the summits. Cornices will be prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: It will be dry overnight with the freezing level close to the summits. Light South-Easterly winds initially will increase in strength during the night becoming gale force Southerly by the middle of the day. By morning the freezing level will be well above the summits and showers will fall as rain at all levels during the day. Observed Weather Influences: An overcast morning with light showers falling as rain below 900 metres. A bright afternoon, predominantly dry with bright sunny spells. Midday summit temperatures around -1C with light Southerly winds. ObservedSnowStability: Below 800 metres milder temperatures have stabilised the snowpack. Above 800 metres on steep terrain such as gully exits on North to East aspects isolated pockets of poorly bonded windslab remain. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
