Current Snowpack Conditions
The snowpack is generally well-settled. There is still intermittent snow cover below 1800m especially on north and west-facing aspects. The last storm snow has settled and bonded well. Moderate temperatures have helped with this. The snow on sunny aspects may be sensitive to the sun and higher freezing levels.
Mountain Weather
A fine start to the day with cloudy periods developing. An odd shower is possible in the afternoon. Moderate westerlies increasing to strong later on. Freezing level rising from 1800m to 2100m.
Sliding Danger
The snow will be hard in places, especially in the morning. An ice axe and crampons will need to be carried for mountain travel.
