Olympics.

Low avalanche danger is expected in all elevation bands on Wednesday.

Detailed Forecast

A weak front will approach the area on Wednesday with an increase in high clouds beginning overnight and likely an increase in low clouds during the daylight hours along with a slow cooling trend.

Otherwise little change is expected until significant new snowfall is received.

Snowpack Discussion

The meager amounts of snow left in the Hurricane Ridge vicinity are not currently creating an avalanche problem.

NWAC pro-observer Tyler Reid was at Hurricane Ridge Monday and only found 20-40 cm of snow surviving on the north side of Klahhane Ridge with a few deeper drifts, other aspects near and below treeline were bare or had shallow patches of snow.

Needless to say, times are tough for winter travel out of Hurricane Ridge!
