Winter is beginning in the high country, bringing with it the potential for avalanches. The bulletin will be updated as conditions change, and twice weekly avalanche bulletins will begin December 3.

Snowpack Summary

Snow is accumulating at upper elevations, and avalanches can occur on the right features. Be especially wary of areas immediately below ridge crests, smooth alpine bowls, and gully features.

Avalanche Summary

Avalanche activity will increase during and immediately after periods of snow, wind, rain, and/or warming. This is the time of year to start traveling with your avalanche equipment, and brush up on your skills.
