The forecast calls for 40cm of new snow by Sat. PM The new snow is very light density. Temperatures are forecast to rise rapidly today and winds will be in the transport range through the weekend. Watch for rapid loading and rising temps today.

Avalanche Problems

Loose Dry

10 cm of very light density new snow fell overnight on top of soft slabs with small facets on top of the slabs. Expect another 5-10cm today and 15cm overnight with rising temperatures. The new snow will sluff in steep terrain and slab as temps rise.

Wind Slabs

South winds have produced slabs on exposed terrain from below tree line to alpine ridges. Thursday winds were from the NE. Most slabs are 10-15cm deep and now buried down 10-15cm. Watch cross loaded and gully features today.
