Forecast Snow Stability: Fresh deposits of unstable windslab will develop progressively throughout Wednesday daytime. Areas most affected will be North through East to South aspects above 900 metres, primarily around coire rims, gully tops and ridge flanks. New cornices will develop and be fragile. Elsewhere, the snowpack will be firm, icy and stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: During the evening, fresh West-North-Westerly winds will increase to strong then veer North-Westerly during the day. Initially snowfall above 800 metres, becoming dry overnight followed by light snowfall to around 300 metres during the day. The freezing level will drop to around 500 metres by morning. Observed Weather Influences: Mostly dry overnight and into the morning then snow showers during the afternoon. The freezing level went above the summits overnight then dropped to around 1000 metres through the day. Storm force Westerly winds eased slightly during the afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: Generally good stability in all locations with the existing snowpack being firm and icy throughout. Isolated and shallow deposits of windslab are developing in wind sheltered areas on North through East to South-East aspects above 900 metres, although these are not extensive. The avalanche hazard is Low.
