Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will be firm and have good stability in all locations. Potential for fresh isolated deposits of wind drifted snow on North-East to North-West aspects above 1000 metres, although any accumulations are expected to be shallow. Snow is now generally confined to West through North to Easterly aspects above 850 metres, with only patches remaining below this level. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Light snowfall above 950 metres is expected in the early part of the night. The freezing level will drop to 700 metres overnight and then rise steadily through the day to be above the summits. Very strong Southerly winds will veer Westerly and decrease to become moderate. Observed Weather Influences: A dry and bright day with the freezing level briefly lowering to around 900 metres before rising to just below the summits. Fresh to strong South-South-Westerly winds. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack has good stability in all locations. Following the overnight thaw, the snow surface became firm and icy above 900 metres. Below this elevation the snow was soft and continuing to diminish. Snow is now generally confined to West through North to Easterly aspects above 850 metres, with only patches remaining below this level. Plateau cover is extensive. The avalanche hazard is Low.
