Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will have good stability throughout, largely well bonded and firm, particularly at higher elevations where it will refreeze. New snow amounts are not expected to be significant. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Light showers this evening, wintry above 700 metres will die out overnight. Showers will return in the afternoon, again wintry above 600 metres, but snow amounts will be small. Winds will generally be West-North-Westerly, light to moderate throughout the forecast period. The freezing level will lower from 800 metres overnight to 700 metres through the day. Observed Weather Influences: Summit cloud and pulses of light rain at all elevations throughout the morning. Freezing level well above the summits. Fresh Southerly wind, noticeably easing and veering South-West by midday. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is undergoing a slow thaw at all elevations and is stable throughout. Some surface softening observed, particularly at lower levels, but the snowpack is largely firm and well bonded. Most snow exists on North through East to South-East aspects above 700 metres. Snow on previously wind scoured West aspects is patchy at best. The avalanche hazard is Low.
