Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will gradually consolidate through the day. However, instabilities will remain in recent windslab accumulations, mainly in gullies and on steep slopes with a North to East aspect above 1000 metres. Elsewhere the snowpack will be generally stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: A mainly dry day with some sunshine. The freezing level will be around 600 metres overnight rising above all summits during the day. Moderate South-Westerly winds overnight will back, to become Southerly by morning and strengthen slightly during the day. Observed Weather Influences: Heavy showers were initially snow above 650 metres turning to rain below 1000 metres by midday and becoming less frequent during the afternoon. Winds were very strong South-Westerly. The freezing level rose to around 1100 metres by midday falling to around 800 metres by the end of the afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: Instabilities are present in new windslab accumulations on mainly North to East aspects above 900 metres. Areas most affected are steep wind sheltered locations such as gullies and coire rims. Elsewhere the snowpack is generally well bonded and stable. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
