Forecast Snow Stability: Unstable windslab will continue to be deposited in wind sheltered areas. Greatest accumulations will be on North through East to South-East aspects above 800 metres. Avalanches are likely in these areas, particularly towards the end of the period with the onset of thaw conditions accompanied by rain. Any recent cornices will be liable to collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: It will remain cool overnight as the last of the snow showers die away. The freezing level will rise at the end of the period to above the summits as a milder airflow begins to affect the area, bringing rain to all levels. The strong North-Westerly winds will turn West overnight, then South-West during the day. Observed Weather Influences: Fresh snow fell at all elevations overnight as the freezing level lowered to around 200 metres. It has remained cool and mostly dry during the day. The winds have been strong North-Westerly. ObservedSnowStability: New snow instabilities exist with areas of unstable windslab above 800 metres. The areas affected are steep corrie rims, headwalls, gully tops, and high wind sheltered locations on North-East through East to South East aspects. More localised instabilities exist in sheltered lee locations, on these same aspects at lower elevations. Better stability on ridges and on many scarp slopes which have been wind scoured. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
