Highlights

The General Avalanche Hazard has increased to HIGH. New snow and strong southwest winds have formed new soft slabs up to two feet in depth on an unstable snowpack. These slabs lie upon excellant sliding surfaces and well developed weak layers of faceted snow. Widespread natural and human triggered avalanches are likely. An avalanche warning has been issued for the western mountains of Wyoming. Travel in avalanche terrain is not recommened.
