At high elevations today snow slabs to eighteen inches in depth lie on wind loaded slopes. On aspects that are not well shaded these slabs lie upon a hard crust and pockets of slab could be triggered today particularly in the afternoon when significant warming will increase these slab's sensitivity. Avalanches are unlikely in the shallow snowpack at mid and low elevations.

High pressure ridge aloft will keep skies clear overnight and Sunday. Highs could reach well above freezing in the mountains. Winds will be light from the west to northwest.AVALANCHE HAZARD FOR THE TETON, TOGWOTEE PASS/CONTINENTAL DIVIDE AND GREYS RIVER/SOUTHWEST TRAILS AREAThe general avalanche hazard for Sunday is expected to remain MODERATE at elevations above 9,000 feet, and LOW below 9,000 feet. Settlement and warm temperatures will continue the stabilizing trend. At these higher elevations, backcountry users could trigger isolated pockets of soft slab up to 18 inches in depth on steep wind loaded aspects, and any pockets will become more sensitive with the afternoon warm up.
