Areas of unstable snow exist at the mid and upper elevations and remain sensitive to human triggers. Yesterday skiers remotely triggered an 18 inch soft slab south of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. On Monday a snowboarder was caught by a slab avalanche on the north side of Mt. Glory. Humans who venture into steep avalanche prone terrain could trigger slab avalanches one to three feet deep. Those who make bold terrain decisions could incur severe consequences. Avalanches are unlikely at the lower elevations.

A high pressure ridge will move into the area from the west. Skies will be partly cloudy. Temperatures will drop to near 10 degrees below zero overnight and rise into the single digits above zero on Thursday. Winds will be north to northwest at 15 to 25 miles per hour.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE above an elevation of 8,000 feet.
