Avalanche Summary

The most dangerous slopes are where you encounter a cohesive slab of snow that rests on weak, cohesionless snow near the ground facing the northern half of the compass. Here, you can trigger an avalanche that could grow large enough to bury you. At lower elevations, especially in areas that got rain on Wednesday, these could be heavy, wet avalanches. The easiest way to reduce your risk is to avoid traveling on or underneath steep slopes that face west through north to southeast.
