Avalanche Summary

You can trigger a dangerous avalanche on steep slopes where you find more than about ten inches of new snow. You can trigger avalanches from the bottom of slopes, and avalanches may run farther than you expect, so give a wide berth around steep slopes above you. For safer options, stick to more wind-sheltered areas or slopes less than about thirty degrees steepness
