Highlights
Natural avalanche activity is not likely today. On Tuesday a snowboarder triggered a 30 inch deep slide on the northeast side of Marys Nipple in the backcountry near Grand Targhee Resort. This rider was the fifth person on the slope and had jumped onto it. At the mid and upper elevations dense slabs two to six feet in depth lie upon weak layers of faceted snow and could be triggered on steep slopes and in cliff areas. The potential for deep burial and severe trama is high if one one of these slabs is triggered.
