Highlights

South to southwest winds have formed pockets of surface slab up to 18 inches deep in mid and upper elevation starting zones. These slabs could be human triggered and have some potential to step down to old January layers of buried faceted snow. At the lower elevations above freezing temperatures and buried layers of surface hoar have created unstable conditions with the potential for wet slide activity. At least ten wet slides impacted the highway in the Snake River Canyon yesterday.
