The most dangerous slopes for triggering avalanches are where recent winds drifted snow into firm, connected slabs over weak snow. You're likely to find this setup on steep north, northeast, and east-facing slopes at upper elevations.
You can find safer and nicer riding conditions at lower elevations and on slopes not affected by recent winds.
