Avalanche Summary

You can trigger a small avalanche where you find drifts of firm snow. These are found close to ridgelines and in gullies. Shady high-elevation slopes where these drifts rest on old snow will be more hazardous. Fresh snow will make these pillowy, drifts hard to identify, so pay extra attention to cracking and collapsing. You can find safer travel on unconsolidated snow.
