A gusty storm on Friday will raise the avalanche danger. You can easily trigger a slab avalanche on wind-drifted slopes, most likely on near-treeline terrain that faces north through east to south. Most avalanches will break one to two feet deep, but one could break deeper into buried weak layers. Look for safer options in wind-sheltered or wind-scoured terrain.
