Highlights

At the mid and upper elevations areas of unstable snow persist in steep starting zones and cliff areas loaded by west and southwest winds. In these areas pockets of new shallow soft slabs and dense old slabs up to two feet in depth could be triggered where they lie upon a basal layer of weak faceted October snow. These slabs may not be triggered by the first skier or rider who crosses them. At the lower elevations the snowpack is shallow and avalanches are unlikely.
