Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. Soft slabs up to one foot in depth formed during a system two days ago. These slabs could be triggered today on steep wind loaded aspects. Although these slabs are shallow they are large enough in area to produce significant volumes of debris and could pull out deeper layers of weak faceted snow. The probability to release these slabs as well as wet slides will increase today at all elevations on sunlit slopes as significant warming occurs. Avoid steep wind loaded avalanche starting zones, steep banks, gullies and terrain traps.
