Thursday's thaw left little liquid or solid precipitation, but the warmer temperatures (4 C at lower elevations) did help moisten the surface snow. A melt-freeze crust formed on the surface after the cold temperatures that followed. On Friday, about 5 cm of snow accumulated on it in sheltered places.
Forecast for peaks and ridges:
Friday evening and night: Light snow, 1 cm. Wind northwest 20 to 40 km/h. Low -18 C.
Saturday: Mostly sunny. Wind southwest 20 to 40 km/h. High -10.
Sunday: Mix of sun and clouds. Wind west 20 to 40 km/h. High -10.
