Up to 15 cm of recent snow may be found at upper elevations. This snow overlies a robust crust everywhere except northerly aspects at upper elevations.

A typical spring diurnal pattern is in effect: daytime warming moistens the upper snowpack, while overnight cooling usually forms a hard crust at higher elevations.

Lower elevations may not refreeze and are melting out quickly.
