Forecast Snow Stability: There will be little change in the snowpack. It will be stable and well bonded. The surface layers will soften in the rain and rising temperatures as the day progresses, with any remaining cornices becoming less stable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: There will be some overnight rain, with sleet on the highest summits. During the day there will be light rain and drizzle to all levels. The freezing level will be above the summits throughout the period. On the tops, winds will be mainly Southerly easing from very strong overnight to fresh by the end of Wednesday. Observed Weather Influences: It was dry and cloudy. Overnight the freezing level was just below the highest summits, rising to just above them during the day. There was a fresh to strong Southerly wind.

ObservedSnowStability: The remaining snowpack is well bonded, stable and continues to slowly thaw and consolidate. Largest snow accumulations remain on North to East aspects above 900 metres. Above 1000 metres on North facing aspects, the snow surface can be icy and firm. The avalanche hazard is Low.
