Forecast Snow Stability: Re-deposited snow will form unstable windslab in wind sheltered locations mainly on North-West through North to East aspects above 900 metres. The greatest hazard will be on steep slopes where existing snow accumulations are present, particularly around gully tops and coire rims. Fragile cornices will also develop on these aspects. Areas exposed to the wind and lower elevations will be generally stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight it will remain dry and very cold down to sea level with fresh South-Westerly winds. During the day it will continue to be mainly dry and cloudy. The wind will back South-Easterly and increase, becoming strong. The freezing level slowly rising to around 300 metres. There will be a period of light snowfall late in the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: Heavy overnight snow continued to fall through the morning lying on all aspects and altitudes, including at sea level. It became dryer and brighter through the morning, sunny in the afternoon. The freezing level rose through the day to around 500 metres. There were light North-Easterly winds. ObservedSnowStability: Fresh accumulations of snow were present on all aspects and altitudes; much of this snow having fallen on bare ground. Localised accumulations of slightly deeper snow were present in wind sheltered locations, with some isolated soft slab deposits present, mainly on South-East to South-West aspects above 900 metres. The existing snowpack was frozen and hard under the new snow. At higher altitudes there was evidence of fresh cornice formation. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
