Snowpack Structure

In some localities 5 cm of snow has fallen above approximately 1600 m. Over a wide area wind slabs are lying on a weakly bonded old snowpack. The new snow can be released naturally above approximately 2000 m. Adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and above approximately 2100 m the wind slabs are larger.
